Day trip to Canterbury

Day trip to Canterbury by The Athenian Girl

Day trip to Canterbury.

There are so many destinations within an hour’s train ride from London and this time we chose to visit Canterbury.
It has been designated UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its history and architecture and this is one of the reasons that make Canterbury so popular destination (apart from the Universities).

Just upon our arrival to Canterbury Station, we walked towards the city centre. We passed through the very cute Abbots Mill Garden before we arrived at the major attraction in Canterbury, England’s largest and world-famous Cathedral.

Canterbury Cathedral is located in the city centre and it is the Mother Church of the worldwide Anglican Communion and seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury.

After the Cathedral, we got lazy just strolling around the beautiful historic centre and the picturesque riverside at Westgate Gardens.
We visited Pork & Co for lunch, Burgate Coffee House and Chambers Cafe for dessert and coffee.

Luckily for us, the weather was warm, and sunny this time!

Until next time ♥
