Some years ago, I decided to celebrate my birthday every year in a different place. This year, I visited Bordeaux with a dear friend.
For the first day we would stay in a hotel while the next days we would stay in a friend’s house. (Thank you Maria and Nick! 🤗)
When we arrived in Bordeaux, it was raining, but it didn’t bother me at all. We could still walk around the city with the umbrella. Plus i love the reflection rain leaves on everything.
And Bordeaux is such a beautiful city. 💕
One of the typical treats I had was Canelés de Bordeaux. It’s a small French pastry that is flavoured with rum and vanilla.it’s soft in the middle and has a thick caramelised shell.
But I personally loved Saint James Individuel, (They make them in this shop, Cassonade) It’s soft biscuit with almonds, orange and rum.
At night, we visited Au Bistrot restaurant for some wine and cheese.
We stayed at Hotel Life BG a stylish hotel close to the old town.
.
We also had the chance to visit Saint-Emilion for a day trip!
Around Bordeaux there are the oldest fine-wine vineyards of the world, not to mention their prestigious chateaux and historic sites. Saint-Emilion is not only known because of its wines and chateaux, but it’s also one of UNESCO World Heritage sites.
It was so worth the visit! We had so much fun, Saint Emillion is a beautiful place, the weather was great, the food and the wine divine.
On our way back to Bordeaux, we had a stroll around the city and then we visited La Contesse for a last drink in the city…
And for our last night in Bordeaux, we had the perfect soirée at home, with wine, and lots and lots of cheese!
Until next time! 💕
